home.

I think after three years of being away from home for extended periods at a time, you realize how lucky we have it back home in Singapore. Of course my family can make anywhere feel like home, but it's the green ECP, clean streets, the humidity, variety of food, buses that comes on time or in short intervals, air-conditioned trains, crazy crowds - the ease and comfort of it all, that makes home truly what it is. I always miss home the most on weekends, particularly on Sundays because I miss waking up early and drinking soy bean milk and heading out to dim sum at Imperial Treasure at Taka with my family. The 'Home' song really resonates with me, because it is exactly how I feel the moment my plane touches down at Changi, where I don't have to line up at immigration under 'Foreign Passports' and I ride the bougainvillea lined ECP home to my warm family and loving dog. I miss the comforting familiarity of it all. I miss all the laughter, smiles and love. I miss not being alone, I just really miss home.
